Network configuration and connexion to my SPU500 Station
By default, the SPU500 is configured with dynamic IP address (DHCP). If you put your SPU500 in a compliant network, IP address will be given.
However, if you want to connect your SPU500 directly to a computer (by using required POE switch), you have to set it with a static IP address. In this article, we will describe how to set this static address and connect the SPU500 by using the associated configuration software.
Find the IP address of the SPU500.
Set a static address
Open a command prompt and enter the following command where "IP_Address" is the SPU500's Address :Â telnet IP_Address
Then, enter the root credentials.
Please enter this command:Â config network ip static "ip address" "mask" "gateway"
You are not required to set "mask"Â and "gateway". The command could be:Â config network ip static "ip address"
Â
Finally, put your computer on the same network to be able to communicate.
Launch the Configuration Utility Software.
Then, enter as hostname the IP address you have just set and click on Connect:
Connected status will appeared on the bottom left side.
Finally, please refer to the User Guide to set up the SPU500: SPU500 User Guide & Data Sheet
