Please note that for the moment Invengo USB drivers are of unsigned type.
Since the drivers get access to the kernel, Windows requires those drivers to be officially signed. Any driver that doesn’t have the official driver signature from Microsoft, will not be allowed to install on Windows.
Therefore, the pre-requisites for successfully installing our drivers are :
- 1. No IT policy blocking the access to the Windows 10/11 Advanced Boot menu.
- 2. No software installed on the PC such as Sophos Safeguard, Bitlocker etc…
If you have any of these active on your PC, please contact your IT department to disable the policy or the software.
Connect the reader to the PC
Open Device manager
Right click on the product and choose "Update driver"
Choose “Browse my computer…”, then “Let me pick from a list of drivers… ..”, then “All peripherals”. It will search and offer a list of manufacturers
Search for FTDI and select “USB to serial converter” (if it complains of a risk that this is not the right driver, proceed ahead anyway). It installs then a second device “USB Serial port” will appear without a driver.
Finally, repeat the procedure but choose “USB serial port” at the end.
If in step 5, you cannot find the manufacturer or the drivers, we are informing you about (very unlikely), download the official FTDI VCP drivers (link: https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/ ), unzip them somewhere on your PC, click “Have disk…” and point to the unzip path.
For USB SERIAL PORT, choose ftdibus.inf. For USB SERIAL PORT, choose ftdiport.inf.
Then, restart PC and check the connection between the reader and PC. Now it should read.
